Service
We service bikes based on their intended use - not their price.
Attune provides a unique service experience in which you can have a true 1-on-1 relationship with the mechanic working on your bike. This begins with an in-person intake where we will evaluate what your bike needs with you. Our approach works best when we are able to ask as many questions about the rider and intended ride as needed to ensure we are delivering the most informed product and service recommendations.
While we made our name on mechanical miracles and a premium service experience, many clients are surprised to learn that we will work on just about anything that meets the legal definition of bicycle (and some beyond that). We don't turn away commuters, cargo bikes, or e-bikes. If we evaluate your bike and don't think that we can accomplish what you are asking we have a wide network of professionals in the GTA we can direct you to. We will only take on a job if we are confident we can deliver a superlative result, worthy of an Attune frame-sticker. If we feel like a job might require further expertise we will always bring that to your attention, and suggest the outside organization or contractor needed to deliver an outcome in line with our (your) expectations.
Pricing
-
Shop Rate: $150/hour
Most mechanical service we provide is billed hourly, in increments of 15 minutes. Because of the increased efficiency provided by our expertise and tailored approach, many of our clients actually report spending less on labour vs. inefficient tune up packages for many preventative maintenance appointments.
-
Common Services: Industry Standard
There are a few procedures (think: flat tires, bike washes, etc.) where billing at the shop rate would make our services untenable for many. In these cases we have set rates comparable to other retailers, independent of hourly concerns (operations that don't require the experience associated with a Master Mechanic).
-
Bike Build: $500
Perhaps what we are best known for - the extra care, time, planning and - often - custom modification necessary to create something special out of a box of parts.
